Quick Week
This was was short because of Temple Day last week. We had a fun service opportunity this past week as well. We helped our member, Abish, move houses. The move went very well but then there was one last piece of large furniture that did not fit in the elevator. Her apartment is on the 9th floor. Long story short...the job of moving the furniture up the 9 flights of stairs fell into the hands of my companion and I. I'm just glad it wasn't in the blazing heat of the summer haha.
We had a lesson with Mr. Liao this week and it was our first sit down lesson with him after he came to church. He started off by telling us how all his friends told him all about how our church is a cult and evil. But then he went on saying how he started to research our church himself and was confused why all the other churches constantly talked about how our church was wrong and evil but ours only taught about love and our personal relationship with God. We said that he hated how all the other churches just argued and talked about how their church was the only right one. As he described how he felt it reminded my exactly of Joseph Smith's story and how he felt during that time. When we shared Joseph Smith's story and experience with him the Spirit was so strong. On my mission so far, I don't think I have ever taught anyone who related to Joseph Smith's story understand it so well.
We also had the awesome opportunity of teaching a young family that lives 2 floors below us in our building. They have 2 young boys who are about 2 and 5 years old. We taught them about family prayer and Jesus Christ and they invited us to come back this next week and will hopefully start coming to church next week.
Bruce, who we found last week, invited us over to his house for dinner this week and we found out that he lives in a HUGE house with 2 other families from his extended family. They live just outside of the city so the view from their house is gorgeous. They also have a ton of random animals. The have everything from hawks on their roof, to turtles free roaming around their house. Sadly, Bruce will be leaving for military service this week but I'll be able to stay in contact with him and get him in contact with the missionaries when he returns.
I wish I could remember every miracle I see everyday but there are just too many.
