Mormon Chicken and Baptisms in 景美 JingMei!
Such a blessed week!
To start it off, our district went to a 70 year old member's house in AnKang 安康 and he made us some of his homemade deep-fried 雞排 chicken fillet. It was super fun, but the highlight was as he was making it, he randomly shouted out in perfect English, "MORMON CHICKEN!". Haha, it gave us a good laugh.
This week was also transfers, and I get to stay in JingMei 景美 with Elder Otani for 1 more transfer! This will be my 4 transfer in JingMei 景美 and I'm so grateful. This weekend we had 2 baptisms of Rosie and Zion. It was the first baptisms the ward has seen in over a year. It's been so special to see the ward grow so much in faith and testimony just in the few transfers I've been privileged to serve here. The baptismal services went super well and the ward is welcoming the new members into the ward very well.
Bryan for ZhuBei 竹北 came up one day this last week to say hi and congraduate Rosie on her baptism. It was awesome to have him there for a few hours and catch up on old times.
We met a young lady from South Korea this week who is here in Taiwan for college. In the first meeting with her she was nearly brought to tears and set a baptismal date for December 8th. Coincidentally, we have a South Korean missionary who just moved into the companionship that we share an apartment with! He's been able to help with any translation things, which has been a big blessing. It's special to see the Lord's hand in everything.
