Elder Evans visits, many miracles follow!
Busy week packed with a lot of fun experiences!
We had Elder Evans visit and hold a conference for our mission. The conferences were split between two different days so that we did not have to bring the whole mission together at the same time. He also held a small MLC meeting with all of the mission leadership. Elder Evans spoke on a lot of different things and shared a lot of super cool experiences. Even though it was exhausting, it was fun being able to get everything prepared for him for both conferences. It seems all the missionaries left with uplifted spirits.
In between the Zone Conferences we had exchanges with two sets of Zone Leaders. I went with the East Zone zone leader, Elder Swensen, for one exchanges, and HuaLian Zone zone leader, Elder Ward, for the other. It is so fun being with some of the more experienced missionaries in the mission so often. I get to learn so much from them on exchanges and we get to see a lot of miracles.
There were a few recent members who came up from my last area, HuaLian, this week and got to go to the temple for their first time! It’s always such a special experience to go do that with them.
There was so much that happened this week, but I’ll just share a few of the many miracles.
Saturday night we might a 17 year old young lady who told us she’s the only Christian in her family, has tried a few churches before, but has realized they don’t follow the Bible and they don’t have the Holy Ghost. She said she was looking to switch churches and was curious what ours was about.
Sunday we received a member referral that has already been to church 3 times on her own, and two people from China were here visited and had a friend bring them to church. After they attended Stake Conference they came up to us and said that they want to be baptized. We are trying to work things out and see if he can happen in the short time they are here.
A friend we have been teaching for a few weeks now, named Bryan, came to church again this week, and seems to be on track for his baptismal date next time.
On Sunday at our Stake Conference, we had a member of the Quorum of the Seventy visit, and he did something amazing. We have a older lady in our ward whose 92 year old husband comes to church with her every week, but he has never been willing to get baptized. He is a famous general in the Taiwanese army, and he seems much younger than 92. The member of the 70 opened up his talk at Stake Conference by saying, "I had the chance to visit *insert the General’s name* and I’m pleased to say that he accepted my invitation to be baptized next month." My companion and I were freaking out during Conference, but it was so cool!!
So many miracles every week.
