"Mommy and I will be baptized together."

This week I went on exchanges with Elder Swenson, Elder Triplett, and Elder Endicott. It's super fun to spend serve with other missionaries and we had a ton of fun. Elder Swenson and Endicott are very young on their mission, but elder Triplett is very old. The contrast makes the exchanges very different but they both bring good experiences to the exchange.

This week for District Meeting I focused on 成為, or in other words, "becoming". As a rather young district, I decided this transfer we'll be focusing on deciding what we want to become as a missionary and a person, and then doing what we need to get there.

I'll start off with a funny story. We had a movie night for our wards this week but the remote for the projector wouldn't turn it on! Everyone was sitting there waiting for the movie to start and we didn't know what to do. The projector was in the wall about 30 or so feet up in the air. The ladder we had didn't quite fit so, being the smart people we are, we had all of the Elders hold the ladder in the air and someone stand on the bottom of the ladder as we sent our lightest Sister up on the ladder to manually turn on the projector. All I'll say is no one died and we ended up watching the movie...

For new people we found and taught this week, we met 李 Mob and Carlo. 李 Mob is about 30 and went to church a little when he was about 12 but then moved houses so he stopped going. Carlo is from the Philippines and has been in Taiwan for a few years. We met him on the street outside of our chapel and invited him in for a tour, he accepted and came in!

We had an amazing lesson with the Wei family this week. We brought our bishop to be the member present and then taught Joseph Smith and the Restoration. The lesson went very well and the Spirit was super strong. They are very willing to listen and let us come to their house to share with them which is amazing. The next step is waiting to see if they are willing to start doing our commitments like beginning to come to church.

We had another lesson with Liao (phone shop guy) in which we basically told him that now it is time for him to really determine if what we are sharing is true and if he wants to be baptized. He believes it's all good, and has prayed every night for the past several weeks, but he hasn't specifically asked God in his prayers. He only has thanked God for all of his blessings. It's hard to not be happy with that haha but we need him to specifically ask God about the truthfulness of these things. We had the same sort of lesson with Zheng Adolf this week too and invited them to pray about March 24th for his baptism.

The biggest miracle of the week was with Shaun, Tina, and Rosie, the South African family. We've been working with this family since I got to 竹北 ZhuBei many months ago. On Wednesday night I got a text from the mom saying, "We will have to talk about this in person. Mommy and I will be baptized together. And I would love you to do the honors. I wanna know every detail on what I need to follow"...It was easily the happiest I've ever been on my mission when I saw that text. We set a date for the mom and grandma to be baptized together on March 24th, but the father has not yet decided if he would like to be baptized.
