Transfers!

Transfers this week and I got a new companion, Elder Christiansen! He is a previous Office Elder and he's a literal genius. He'll be attending Harvard when he finishes his mission. It's been such a blast to be with him! I've already learned so much.

This week felt super short because of transfers, but we still had some awesome experiences. On Tuesday we had a board game night with one of the people we are teaching, Brother 楊 Yang. He currently has goal for baptism on the 23rd of February! On Thursday we had a few lessons, including one with Mr. and Mrs. Lin 林! It was our first time meeting with them, we first contacted then at a red stoplight and they gave is their number! They are already devout Christians, so it was very special to hear their already powerful testimonies of Christ and then testify to them that our message will continue to allow their testimony of Christ grow.

On Friday we had our basketball activity again and had a ton of new people show up, including a 23 young man named Zhi Hao who just graduated from college. He had come to the chapel for a basketball activity nearly 10 years ago, and this week was his first time back since then! He is such a humble guy and was so willing to set up with us to learn more about our church!

On Saturday we got to do service for a member! We went out to a more rural place and cut sugar cane to give out to members and friends! It was my first time having sugar cane and oh man it was so good!

Also on Saturday, after English class we also got to meet with Joy and her two adorable children. She is talkative and has a lot of questions, which makes it super fun to meet with her haha. The best part is, she's honestly curious about what she asks and loves to learn about our church! We've only met with her once so far, but I'm excited to see the experiences she has as she begins to read the Book of Mormon and pray about what she reads.

In my previous area, 景美 JingMei, a mother we were teaching (Aubreigh) got baptized yesterday! I still remember the day Elder Otani and I first met her on the street. We were praying about where we should bike to for our daily Chinese Language Study, and Elder Otani felt strongly to go to a nearby McDonalds. A few minutes later, right as we pulled up on our bikes to McDonalds, a mom was walking by pushing her young child in a stroller. Flash forward a few months, and now that mother is baptized! We are excited to continue working with the husband as well. God is preparing everyone's path. He knows what's bet for us, he knows what we need, he will lead and guide our lives... We just have to let him.
